Kluge, who resided in a care home on Lincoln Drive, wandered away from the facility that afternoon and never returned. This was not the first time he had gone missing—previously, he had been found in the Saticoy area. Despite an extensive search and efforts to publicize his case through newspaper and television reports, no leads were uncovered, and he has not been located since.
Kluge had several distinguishing features, including cauliflower ear in both ears, a scar on his forehead, and missing adenoids. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black jacket. Due to his medical condition, Kluge was dependent on medication, further heightening concerns for his safety.
