Delrio, who led a transient lifestyle, was reported missing after his last known contact with family members. In April 1994, he called a relative, stating he was near the Arizona border. This was the last time anyone heard from him, and no further communication has occurred since then.

At the time of his disappearance, Delrio was described as 5'8" tall, weighing approximately 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He had a distinct dark birthmark near his mouth and a 4-inch scar on the right side of his torso. Despite being listed as an endangered missing person, very little evidence has surfaced about his whereabouts. His case remains unsolved, and he is still listed as missing by the California Department of Justice and the Redwood City Police Department, which continues to seek information from the public.
