In the spring of 1983, a young man named Desmond Joseph Runstedler, aged 27, vanished from the rural landscape of Alberta, leaving behind a life and a profound sense of mystery. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Desmond had moved west and was residing in a rented farmhouse a few kilometers east of Lougheed with roommates.
