In the late winter of 2025, concern grew for Scott Edward Rooney, a 61-year-old man from the area of North Tonawanda, New York. His last confirmed sighting was on March 23, 2025. The following morning, on March 24, he was reportedly seen again, this time leaving his vehicle and walking in the vicinity of Goat Island in Niagara Falls, USA.
