In the late summer of 2006, a sense of unease settled over the rural community of Forrest, Manitoba, with the disappearance of 55-year-old Grant John Moffat. A well-known and respected cattle rancher, Moffat was last seen on August 17 or 18, 2006. On that day, he visited a Fas Gas outlet in Ste. Rose du Lac, where he purchased a fishing licence.
