On March 3, 1974, Wilfred McArdon set sail from Victoria, British Columbia in a small boat with the intention of reaching Ucluelet, British Columbia three days later; however, he never arrived. Wilfred's boat is described as a 20' Spencer manufactured wood cabin vessel Reg# 13K30727.
