On a day that should have been filled with celebration for her son's high school graduation, Lorraine Maltais-Chonkolay, a 36-year-old Indigenous woman, disappeared from her home in Bushe River First Nation, Alberta. On the evening of June 15, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Lorraine was last seen by her daughter. The daughter reported hearing a vehicle pull up to their home before her mother left.
