In the late autumn of 2022, a sense of unease began to permeate the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, with the disappearance of 65-year-old Alexander Joseph Lawson, known affectionately as Alex or AJ to his friends and family. A member of the Lac Seul First Nation, Alex was a familiar face in his community, known for his long, straight grey hair, brown eyes, and the facial hair he usually wore.
