In the pre-dawn hours of Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13, 2001, twenty-nine-year-old Darryl Ferneyhough disappeared from Halifax, Nova Scotia. A well-liked butcher who had recently been promoted at the Sobeys on Queen Street, Darryl was an active and proud member of the city's LGBTQ+ community.
