On August 23, 1988, Roberta Ferguson and eight other youths went to Sunnyside Campground at Cultus Lake in Chilliwack, BC. On August 24, 1988, Ms. Ferguson left the group on foot, it is believed she intended to return to her home in Surrey, British Columbia. Witnesses reported having seen a female walking on Columbia Valley Road, and others reported having seen a female getting into a vehicle at the intersection of Vedder Road and Cultus Lake Road. Ms. Ferguson has not been seen since.
