On June 27, 1973, 27-year-old Robert Scott Ellis, a male who was visiting or fishing in the Reed Lake area of Manitoba, disappeared after what began as an ordinary day on the water turned into a life-threatening emergency. Robert had gone fishing with a friend on Reed Lake, with available accounts placing the men on the lake from approximately 9:30 that morning until later in the day.
