In the autumn of 2003, a sense of unease settled over the community of Tonawanda, New York, with the disappearance of 45-year-old James Davern. A resident of the Erie County town, he was last seen on October 10th of that year. Concern for his well-being grew among those who knew him as time passed without any contact.
