In the late winter of 2018, the life of 32-year-old Nerissa Cox took a turn into uncertainty when she vanished from her home in Niagara Falls, New York. On March 24th of that year, Nerissa was last seen leaving her residence. Her destination was unknown, and since that day, there has been no contact from her, leaving her family and friends in a state of distressing ambiguity. At the time she went missing, Nerissa was described as a Black/African American female, standing at 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The last clothing she was seen wearing consisted of black and pink pajama pants paired with a dark brown work coat and wire-framed glasses. Nerissa has several distinct features that her loved ones hoped would lead to her being found. She has numerous piercings, including on both of her ears, around her mouth, and on her tongue. Her tattoos are particularly unique, with the word "BORICUA" inscribed on the right side of her neck, a rose accompanied by the words "Kiss Me" on her right chest, a depiction of a Siberian Husky on her lower back, and various letters tattooed on her fingers. These identifying marks paint a picture of a woman with a distinct personal style, now silent witnesses in her mysterious disappearance. The days immediately following her disappearance were filled with concern, and just four days after she was last seen, on March 28, 2018, a missing person case was officially created in her name. The investigation into Nerissa Cox's whereabouts was initiated by the New York State Park Police, with the Niagara Falls Police Department also involved in the case. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, her case has remained stubbornly unresolved, with no significant leads or developments to shed light on what might have happened to her. The circumstances surrounding her departure from her residence are vague, with authorities only able to confirm that her destination was unknown. Her case is listed on national missing persons platforms like NamUs, a constant and somber reminder of a life interrupted. The lack of answers has left a void in the lives of those who know and love Nerissa, as they continue to hope for any information that might bring a resolution to her troubling and ongoing case. This overview encapsulates the known facts of her disappearance, a narrative of a woman who seemingly vanished without a trace, leaving behind only questions and a community searching for answers.
