In the late hours of a summer evening, on June 20, 2011, the life of 28-year-old Richard Ricardo West of District Heights, Maryland, took a terrifying and mysterious turn. A family member received a deeply unsettling text message from Richard, known affectionately as Rick, at 11:55 PM. The message contained a single, chilling claim: he had been kidnapped.
