Adam Osama Shannon, a 4-year-old boy, went missing from Rosedale, Maryland, on August 22, 2001. Adam and his younger brother, Jason, were abducted by their non-custodial mother, Nermeen Osama Shannon, during a weekend visit to New York. The children's father, who had full custody, reported the abduction after Nermeen failed to return the boys. A felony warrant for child abduction was issued against her on August 28, 2001.
