In the spring of 2026, concern began to grow for 48-year-old James Townsend Becker of Montague, New Jersey. The last confirmed contact with him was on May 1, 2026. Prior to this, on April 30, 2026, troopers from the New Jersey State Police had conducted a well-being check at his residence. It wasn't until over a month later, on June 11, 2026, that his family officially reported him as a missing person, prompting an investigation by the New Jersey State Police Troop B Sussex Station.
