In the quiet days leading up to the holiday season, a family's world was turned upside down with the disappearance of 20-year-old Devonte Omarion Henson. Devonte was last seen in Spring, Texas, on December 23, 2025. When his family and loved ones were unable to make contact with him, a deep sense of concern grew. A report was filed with the Harris County Constable, Precinct 4, as the search for the young man began.
At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds. The initial days of his being missing were filled with uncertainty and hope for his safe return.
Tragically, the hope for Devonte's safe return was short-lived. The day after he was last seen, on the morning of December 24, 2025, Devonte was involved in a fatal incident. At approximately 4:51 a.m., he was walking in the 5300 block of the W. Sam Houston Parkway N. in Houston when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene, leaving Devonte with severe injuries to which he tragically succumbed. His passing was later confirmed through an obituary, which announced funeral services to be held in January of the following year. The news transformed a missing person case into a search for justice for Devonte and his grieving family.
The investigation into what happened to Devonte Henson is now focused on finding the individual responsible for the hit-and-run that ended his life. Crime Stoppers of Houston and the Harris County Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Division have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect or suspects involved. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the charging or arrest of the person responsible for this devastating event.
