The case came to light after Gabrielle's father reported her missing on October 29, 2025, following the arrest of her mother on unrelated charges.
The investigation into Gabrielle's whereabouts intensified after her mother, Passha Davis, was arrested on October 17, 2025, for shoplifting and providing a false identity to police. During her arrest and subsequent questioning, Davis did not provide any information about her daughter's location and reportedly told investigators that Gabrielle was with her father, a claim he has denied, stating he had not seen his daughter since May 2025. Davis, who is reported to be homeless and suffering from mental health and substance abuse issues, has since been charged with child neglect without great bodily harm, concealing the location of a minor, and providing false information to law enforcement. The Margate Police Department is the lead investigating agency, with assistance from the FBI. Authorities have searched homeless camps and other areas frequented by Gabrielle's parents.
