Summary based on 3 sources
Luis Antonio Alderete-Martinez was three years old when he was last seen on June 1, 2015, in El Paso, Texas. On that day, his father, Luis Aragon-Alderete, dropped him off at his preschool. Later, his non-custodial mother, Regina Martinez, was supposed to pick him up for a short vacation. However, they both vanished shortly after, and repeated attempts by his father to contact Regina were unsuccessful. When his father went to the daycare to pick him up, he was informed that his son was not there.

Authorities believe that Luis was abducted by his mother, Regina Martinez. A felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for her on February 18, 2016. At the time of the incident, Luis was described as a lively little boy who loved toy trains and ice cream. His parents had divorced in 2014, and his father had been granted primary custody. Regina, a native of Chihuahua, Mexico, was permitted to have visitation with her son. It is suspected that she may have taken Luis to Mexico.

In the years following his disappearance, efforts to locate Luis have been ongoing. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has been involved in the case, creating and distributing age-progressed photos to show what Luis might look like as he gets older. In 2018, Clear Channel Outdoors America donated billboard space in El Paso to display his image and other vital information, though this did not generate any new leads. The case has also been featured on Investigation Discovery's "In Pursuit with John Walsh". Luis was born on March 22, 2012, has black hair and brown eyes, and speaks both English and Spanish. His mother, Regina Martinez, also known as Regina Martinez Dorantes, was born on May 10, 1988, and has black hair and brown eyes. The El Paso Police Department continues to ask for the public's help with any information regarding their whereabouts.
