Four-year-old Solenne Grimes, a little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, disappeared from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She was last seen on December 25, 2021, after her non-custodial mother, Tara Lindsey Lasham, picked her up from her father's home for a scheduled visit. At the time, Solenne's parents had a joint custody arrangement.
However, after that Christmas Day, Solenne was not returned to her father, Jason Grimes, and all communication ceased, prompting a desperate search for the young child.
In the weeks that followed the initial disappearance, concern grew as Tara Lasham failed to appear for subsequent custody exchanges. This led to legal action, and in April 2022, Solenne's father was granted full custody. As the investigation into Solenne's whereabouts intensified, a felony warrant for custodial interference was issued for Tara Lasham on June 15, 2022. Authorities believe Tara is not acting alone and may be receiving assistance from her own mother, Colleen Lasham, who is also being sought for questioning. The group was reportedly last seen months after the initial abduction, on July 27, 2022, in the town of Ocean View on Hawaii Island. They may be traveling in either a 2022 black BMW with Hawaii license plate ZKM389 or an orange 2018 Toyota Tacoma with Hawaii license plate ZFX062.
Years have passed since Solenne was last seen by her father. The case remains an active investigation, with law enforcement agencies periodically renewing their requests for public assistance in locating Solenne and her mother. Solenne, who has a faint scar under her nose, has now been missing for a significant portion of her young life. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has released age-progressed photos to provide a better sense of what she might look like as she gets older, hoping someone will recognize her. The family continues to hold out hope for her safe return, marking painful milestones like birthdays with public letters expressing their love and unwavering commitment to finding her.
