On June 7, 2004, 37-year-old Steven F. Woelfel was last seen in Chilton, Wisconsin. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white t-shirt, dark blue or black shorts, and white sneakers. Steven, who also went by the nickname Steve, was described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 230 pounds, with graying brown hair and blue eyes. He wore either contact lenses or eyeglasses with brown plastic frames. Steven has not been seen or heard from since that day.
His family has stated that his disappearance was uncharacteristic of him.
Sometime after he was last seen, Steven's red 1995 Chevrolet S-10 extended cab pickup truck, which had silver stripes, was discovered abandoned. The vehicle was located at an apartment complex near the 700 block of Highland Street in Kewaskum, Wisconsin. Kewaskum was an area that Steven was familiar with. There was no sign of Steven at the location where his truck was found. In the weeks following his disappearance, a possible sighting of him was reported in the Campbellsport, Wisconsin area, but this has never been confirmed by authorities.
At the time he went missing, Steven was reportedly going through a divorce and was very distressed by it. He also had a history of depression and suffered from memory loss and high blood pressure, for which he required medication. It is believed that he did not have his necessary medication with him when he disappeared. The investigation into his disappearance has not yielded any definitive answers. Authorities have stated that while there is no evidence of foul play in his case, it has not been entirely ruled out.
