On or around September 15, 2012, 42-year-old Opal Darlene Fleshman, who went by her middle name Darlene, left her home in Union, West Virginia, and traveled to Roanoke, Virginia. She was reportedly on her way to meet a man to sell her purple 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier. Darlene was last seen in Southwest Roanoke City in the company of this man. After this meeting, she was never heard from again. Darlene is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing between 5'2" and 5'6" and weighing around 115 pounds. She has several distinguishing features, including extensive freckles on her face and upper arms, a birthmark on her forehead, a four-inch scar below her navel, and multiple piercings on her ears, nose, and navel. She also suffers from diabetes and seizures, adding to the concern for her welfare. The investigation into Darlene's disappearance took a significant turn when her purple 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier was found abandoned in Roanoke in December 2012. The man she was last seen with was identified as Michael Eisman. When interviewed, Eisman admitted to being with Darlene, stating he was going to buy her car. He claimed they spent time together, went to a Walmart where he bought her a phone, and then returned to his apartment. According to Eisman, he then drove Darlene's car to drop her off at the Apple Valley Motel and left with the vehicle, which he claimed he then owned. A year after Darlene's disappearance, in an unrelated case, Eisman was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for the murder of his wife and the stabbing of his stepdaughter in November 2013. Despite the years that have passed, Darlene's case remains active, with both the Roanoke Police Department and the West Virginia State Police investigating. The lack of available details has made the investigation challenging for law enforcement. Her family continues to hold out hope for answers, remembering her as a vibrant person who loved makeup and rock and roll music. The circumstances of her disappearance, last seen with a man later convicted of a violent crime, and the subsequent discovery of her abandoned car, paint a troubling picture. The overview of the case is that Darlene Fleshman, a woman from Monroe County, West Virginia, vanished after traveling to Roanoke, Virginia, to sell her car, and her last known contact was with a man who has since been imprisoned for murder.
