She had several tattoos, including a red rose on her right forearm, a hummingbird on her left breast, eagle wings on her right shoulder, a cobra snake on her upper left leg, and a rebel flag accompanied by the words 'live to ride, ride to live.' Her style was described as that of a 'rocker/biker chick,' and she was known to wear a leather vest and rings on all her fingers.
The circumstances leading up to Virginia's disappearance were complex. She had briefly served in the United States Army but was discharged for medical reasons. Following her discharge, she became involved with the Pagans, a motorcycle gang, and her boyfriend at the time was a member.
