Daniel Charles Edmonds Jr., 22, was last seen on August 22, 1995, at a family member's home in the vicinity of the 800 block of South 300 West in Salem, Utah. That evening, he reportedly stole a neighbor's mountain bike and vanished, with no contact with friends or family since.
A few days following his disappearance, Edmonds's Ford Bronco was discovered abandoned in Santaquin Canyon, approximately seven miles from the canyon's entrance.
Inside the vehicle were his sleeping bag and hiking gear. This discovery led authorities to believe he may have had an accident while riding the stolen mountain bike during the night. A subsequent search was conducted in the Diamond Fork Canyon area of Utah County, but neither Edmonds nor the bicycle were found.
Edmonds was an experienced hiker and was known to frequent the Mount Nebo region of Southern Utah County. At the time he went missing, he was described as being 6'4" and weighing around 140 pounds, with blond or strawberry blond hair and blue eyes. He has several distinguishing marks, including scars on both knees, a mole on his neck, and scars on his right fingers. He was last seen wearing a blue "Marlboro" shirt, blue Levi's jeans, a brown belt, a white baseball cap, and "Hi-Tec" hiking boots.
