Nicholas A. Munoz, a 31-year-old resident of San Marcos, Texas, has been missing since November 27, 2010. He was last seen with four other individuals: Luis Hernandez, Carlos Ortega-Gonzales, Ricardo Gomez, and Ricardo's 14-year-old nephew, Jiovany Gomez. The group was traveling in a green 2003 Chevrolet Suburban with the Texas license plate number AD98575. The four adults were local to the San Marcos area, while Jiovany was visiting from his home in Chicago, Illinois.
On the day of their disappearance, the group traveled to the border city of Laredo, Texas, with the intention of finalizing paperwork for a vehicle. They then made the decision to cross the border into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, for a shopping trip. At approximately 12:00 p.m., Luis Hernandez placed a call to his wife, informing her that they anticipated returning home between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. that evening. However, the group never returned from their trip to Mexico.
Concerns for their well-being grew, and on November 30, 2010, law enforcement was alerted after Munoz and Hernandez, who were described as dependable employees, failed to report for their jobs at Heldenfels Enterprises Inc., a concrete company. While Jiovany Gomez is classified as a runaway by some agencies, the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of all five individuals remain unclear. Authorities believe they may still be in Mexico, and the possibility of foul play is being considered in their cases.
