Bo Young Kim Mickens, a 35-year-old native of South Korea, was reported missing from El Paso, Texas, on November 1, 2017. Mickens, who is a lawful permanent resident of the United States, had moved to the country after marrying a member of the U.S. military. She has limited English proficiency and does not drive. Her last known address was in the 6400 block of Edgemere in El Paso.
The circumstances surrounding Mickens's disappearance are unclear and marked by conflicting information. In 2017, she and her son relocated from El Paso to Orlando, Florida, to live with her husband's parents. The last confirmed sighting of Mickens was on November 1, 2017, when she was seen leaving her in-laws' residence in a car with her husband and son. It is believed that the family may have traveled to the Atlanta-Decatur-Chamblee-Doraville area in Georgia. Mickens has not been seen or heard from since.
Further complicating the case are the inconsistent statements provided by Mickens's husband regarding her last whereabouts. While her last permanent address was listed in El Paso, her husband has at one point claimed he last saw her in Atlanta, Georgia. In September 2017, just before her disappearance, Mickens obtained a Florida state identification card which listed an old address belonging to her father-in-law. Investigators have reportedly been unable to make contact with her father-in-law.
