On the evening of February 18th, he was with his friend, Toby Bing. The two were last seen at about 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Wild Horse Road. Jones, known to his loved ones as Shawn or Gibbs, was an African-American man with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 5'9' and weighing around 195 pounds.
He had several distinct tattoos, including a smiling or frowning face on the right side of his neck, the planet Earth on one arm, a man on another arm, and his birthdate of '9/21/76' on one of his shoulders. On the day he vanished, he was wearing a diamond-cut Figaro necklace with a diamond-studded cross pendant.
The circumstances surrounding their disappearance began to unfold when Bing received a call on his cell phone, requesting that he drive to Bluffton, South Carolina. He and Jones left in Bing's white 1994 Toyota pickup truck and were never heard from again.
