On June 9, 1981, 44-year-old Edward Sprenkle Dubbs vanished after leaving his job in Manhattan, New York. Dubbs, a top-level executive at the public relations firm Hayes Williams, Inc., was last seen at his office in the 200 block of Madison Avenue at approximately 5:05 p.m. A resident of Newtown, Connecticut, Dubbs was a creature of habit who commuted daily via the Conrail train from Grand Central Station to either the West Redding or Bethel stations in Connecticut.
