In the spring of 1958, 18-year-old Michael Lawrence Griffin and his 14-year-old girlfriend, Donnis Marie Redman, made a life-altering decision. The young couple, originally from San Pedro, California, decided to elope, setting their sights on Las Vegas, Nevada, a drive of several hours from their hometown.
