Dennis Burton, a 69-year-old former engineer from Ramona, California, was last seen on September 25, 2022, near Death Valley Junction. His truck, which had run out of gas, was discovered five days later on September 30, abandoned in Goler Wash, a remote area near Death Valley National Park. Burton had reportedly attempted to contact his wife on the morning of his disappearance, but it is unclear whether the call occurred before or after his vehicle ran out of fuel.
