On the evening of June 1, 1990, 24-year-old Connie Lynn Royce was preparing for a date with a man she had met just a few days prior over Memorial Day weekend. After a short-lived marriage and a subsequent difficult breakup, Connie was living with her parents in Madison Heights, Michigan, and attending business school.
