In the early evening of June 28, 2023, in Houghton Lake, Michigan, 13-year-old Iris Mae Perez and her older sister, Tamara, were seen by a neighbor walking towards the woods near their home. This would be the last known sighting of the two sisters. Iris, a young girl with black hair and brown eyes, stood at five feet tall and weighed around 140 pounds.
