In the late summer of 1995, fifteen-year-old Noquisi Ama Blossom and her family had recently relocated to Makawao, Hawaii, in June, adding to a list of places they had called home, including Washington, Vermont, Florida, Oregon, and New Mexico. Raised by a single mother, Noquisi was described as a very social person who adapted easily and made new friends wherever she went. Initially a good student who was well-behaved, Noquisi's demeanor began to change shortly before she vanished.
Her grades started to decline, she began to break curfew, and she eventually dropped out of school. This shift in behavior created friction between Noquisi and her mother, leading to arguments.
The difficulties in Noquisi's life escalated as she reportedly began to abuse drugs and alcohol. She started a relationship with a 25-year-old man and moved out of her family's home to live with friends. During this tumultuous period, Noquisi became pregnant. After a conversation with her mother, she made the decision to terminate the pregnancy, which she did on October 9, 1995. Just nine days later, on October 18, 1995, Noquisi was seen for the last time as she left her residence in Makawao. She has not been seen or heard from since that day. When she disappeared, she left all of her personal belongings behind, and her boyfriend claimed to have no knowledge of where she had gone.
Noquisi was a white female with blonde hair and eyes that could appear blue, gray, or green. She stood between 5'1' and 5'2' and weighed around 115 pounds. Distinctive features included a scar near her left eyebrow, another on her left index finger, and a self-made inscription of the words 'until death' on her forearm. At the time she went missing, her ears and nose were pierced, and she wore braces on her teeth. Authorities have considered the possibility that Noquisi left on her own, perhaps with a male companion, and may have departed from Hawaii.
