Ulises Hanoy Roldan, a 35-year-old man from Tampa, Florida, has been missing since March 15, 2008. On that Saturday morning, Roldan departed from his residence with the intention of going fishing in the company of a friend who has not been identified. They set out on a 1988 Wellcraft fiberglass boat, bearing the registration number WELP4736D888.
Following their departure, neither Roldan nor his friend returned as expected. All contact was lost, and there have been no sightings of the two men or their vessel since that day. The boat, a key piece of evidence in their disappearance, has never been located. The complete absence of any sign of the men or their watercraft has led to the presumption that they were lost at sea.
In the absence of any evidence to suggest otherwise, authorities and his family have come to the conclusion that Roldan perished in a boating accident.
