Paola Marie Miranda-Rosa, a 31-year-old woman from Apopka, Florida, was last seen on December 18, 2021, in Wekiwa Springs State Park. Her disappearance has prompted extensive search efforts and left her family desperate for answers. On the day she went missing, Miranda-Rosa was seen by a camper near Otter Camp and was also filmed by other campers wading chest-deep in the Wekiva River in an area where swimming is prohibited. She had made plans to visit her sister that day but never arrived and has not been heard from since.
Following her disappearance, Miranda-Rosa's black 2011 Chevrolet HHR was discovered in the Sand Lake parking lot of the park. Inside the vehicle were her personal belongings, including her phone and wallet. Despite extensive searches of the park involving law enforcement agencies, canine units, and volunteers, no trace of her has been found. Authorities have stated that they do not suspect foul play in her disappearance.
Miranda-Rosa's family has expressed deep concern for her well-being, noting her history of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. They have actively participated in the search and have made public appeals for any information that could lead to her whereabouts. The family has also raised concerns that she may have been trafficked. As of early 2026, the case remains unsolved, though a new sheriff has reportedly begun to re-examine the case, bringing renewed hope to the family. A $5,000 reward for information has been offered.
