Ashish Patel, a 37-year-old man from Sacramento, California, was last seen on September 12, 2024. On that day, Patel left his home appearing to be in a state of mental distress. He was reported missing the following day and has not been heard from since. His phone has been turned off since the evening of September 12th.
Four days after his disappearance, on September 16, 2024, Patel's gray Ford Explorer was discovered abandoned along a rural road in Manchester State Park, located
in Mendocino County. Authorities from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, with the help of a helicopter and other agencies, conducted searches in the area but were unable to locate him. Patel has no known connections to Mendocino County.
According to a close friend, there are concerns that Patel may have traveled to the coast with the intention of harming himself and could be in possession of a firearm. However, the friend also stated that they do not believe he poses a danger to others.
