David Stephen Papageorgiou, a 52-year-old Caucasian male with graying black hair and brown eyes, went missing from San Bruno, California, on December 25, 2006. On that day, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Papageorgiou had an argument with his family members and left their residence. He was last seen driving his green 1987 Jaguar. He was reported to have never been heard from again.
Following his disappearance, Papageorgiou's car was discovered abandoned in the east parking lot located at the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge. According to his relatives, it was not unusual for him to drive to the vicinity of the San Francisco International Airport to watch airplanes and be near the shore.
Although his body has never been recovered, a death certificate was eventually issued for David Stephen Papageorgiou. Author John Bateson, in his book "The Final Leap: Suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge," includes Papageorgiou in his list of individuals who have died by suicide from the bridge. An obituary for Papageorgiou was published in 2007, which mentioned he was survived by his wife, three children, and two grandchildren. The San Bruno Police Department was the investigating agency for his case.
