It wasn't until two days later, on Wednesday, July 9th, that family members contacted authorities to report him missing, alarmed by his uncharacteristic absence.
Neilsen is described as being approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds, with buzzed hair. At the time he went missing, he was believed to be wearing a white T-shirt and black pants that had a white stripe down the sides. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance were immediately concerning to his family. His mother shared with law enforcement that he might be experiencing a mental health crisis, which elevated the urgency of the search.
