On December 15, 2024, 37-year-old Huntsville real estate agent Ronald "Ronnie" Dumas Jr. was last heard from around 10 p.m. during a phone call in which he seemed to be socializing with others. The following day, December 16, the Tennessee Highway Patrol discovered his unoccupied black 2021 Hyundai Palisade on the shoulder of Interstate 40 near mile marker 133 in Waverly, Tennessee. The vehicle was subsequently impounded.
