In the spring of 2025, a sense of unease settled over a family in Apache Junction, Arizona, when 34-year-old Cody Randy Vensor Jr. disappeared. On April 1, 2025, Cody, who was living with his father, left their home on foot. The next day he called out from his job at a McDonald's in Gold Canyon but never returned. It was uncharacteristic of him to not come home or have any contact with his family, which immediately raised concern. Cody did not own a vehicle, and his cell phone has been inactive since his disappearance, adding to the mystery of his whereabouts. Authorities were alerted to Cody's disappearance and began an investigation. They searched the area where his cell phone was last active but found no trace of him. Cody is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds, with red or auburn hair and hazel eyes. He also has a thin mustache and goatee. When he was last seen, he was wearing a bright orange cap or beanie, a dark blue or black jacket, black pants, and black tennis shoes. He also had on black-framed prescription glasses and was carrying a dark blue backpack. His father expressed that it was not like his son to fall out of contact, which deepened the worry surrounding his sudden absence. The circumstances leading up to Cody's disappearance are few but troubling. He had reportedly told someone he was going to the library to meet with a representative from the Arizona Department of Economic Security, an appointment he never kept. There was an unconfirmed report that he may have been seen at a gas station in Topeka, Kansas, but as of December 2025, none of his family had seen or heard from him. The lack of any significant leads has left his family and the authorities searching for answers. The case is a perplexing one, marked by a sudden departure and a complete lack of communication, leaving a void in the lives of those who know him. The Apache Junction Police Department continues to investigate, and his case is listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
