Cody Randee Vensor Jr., a 33-year-old man, was last seen on April 1, 2025, in Apache Junction, Arizona, where he had been living with his father. According to information released during the investigation, Cody left his home in the area of North San Marcos Drive on foot. He reportedly said that he planned to go to the library to meet with someone from the Arizona Department of Economic Security, but authorities later learned that he apparently never made it to that meeting.

Cody was described in public missing-person information as a White male approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with red or auburn hair and hazel eyes. He had a thin mustache and goatee and wore black-framed prescription eyeglasses. Information circulated in connection with the case described him as having a bright orange cap or beanie, a dark blue or black jacket, black pants and black tennis shoes, and carrying a dark blue backpack. Some official information noted uncertainty about exactly what he was wearing when he initially left home, so the clothing description appears to have been intended to help identify him during the period in which authorities were searching for him rather than establish with certainty what he wore at the moment he disappeared.
As the months passed, Cody's whereabouts remained uncertain. Apache Junction police continued publicizing his case, and a later police update said that none of his family members had seen or heard from him as of late 2025. Authorities also received an unconfirmed report that Cody might have been seen at an unidentified gas station in Topeka, Kansas. The report was never publicly confirmed, however, and there was no indication at the time that investigators had been able to establish that the person seen in Kansas was Cody. The possibility nevertheless suggested that he could have traveled a considerable distance from Arizona, although publicly available information did not explain how he might have reached Kansas given that he did not have a vehicle when he disappeared.
The case eventually reached a far more hopeful conclusion. An updated notice associated with the Apache Junction Police Department reported that Cody had been located and was safe. Publicly available information does not provide a clear date or detailed explanation of where he was found, how authorities located him, where he had been during the period in which his family could not reach him, or whether the possible Kansas sighting was connected to his eventual recovery. Those details therefore remain unclear in the information released publicly.
