Sandra Johnsen Hughes, a 53-year-old experienced outdoorswoman, went missing in the summer of 2020 near Bass Lake, California. She was last in contact with her family on June 26, 2020, when she informed them about her plans for a solo camping trip. Sandra, who had only been in California for six months, was known for her survival skills and familiarity with the outdoors. Her disappearance occurred during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding complexity to the search efforts.
