On October 29, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., Houston police officers responded to a shooting incident in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 2901 Fulton Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Isaiah Avila in the driver's seat of his recently purchased vehicle, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced Avila dead at the scene. While authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive, Avila's mother believes her son was the victim of a robbery.
