Summary based on the NamUs case record (MP137201) and 10 other sources
Kayla Rose Sobczak, an 18‑year‑old mixed‑race woman from Kenosha, Wisconsin, was last seen on the night of December 17, 2024, at approximately 11:00 PM in the vicinity of 60th Street and 12th Avenue in Kenosha. She was observed wearing a black windbreaker and dark/black pants, and was reportedly picked up by an unknown male in a charcoal gray sedan, though her intended destination remains unknown.

Her family, deeply concerned for her safety, officially reported her missing to the Kenosha Police Department on December 23, 2024. In the interim, authorities issued a public alert on January 23, 2025, designating her as an endangered missing person and seeking assistance from the public. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children also joined the effort, noting that she could still be located in Kenosha, Racine, or Milwaukee in Wisconsin—or possibly in Waukegan or Chicago, Illinois.

Tragically, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at approximately 4:55 PM, responders recovered a woman’s body concealed within the Lake Michigan breakwall at Eichelman Park in Kenosha. The scene was described by a witness as unsettling: first responders—firefighters and police—had taped off the area and were thoroughly searching the rocks with flashlights. Through the efforts of the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office and a forensic odontologist, the remains were positively identified as those of Kayla Rose Sobczak.

Kayla’s death is still under active investigation by law enforcement. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Detective James Krein at the Kenosha Police Department’s Investigations Bureau.

The community mourns the loss of a young life, and the circumstances surrounding her passing remain clouded in uncertainty.
