Summary based on the NamUs case record (MP136838)
On December 30, 2024, family members of 49-year-old Jeffery Bernstein of Tempe, Arizona, became concerned after a phone call with him. During the conversation, Jeffery mentioned he was feeling stressed and was considering taking a trip, possibly to Latvia or Las Vegas. This was the last time his mother spoke with him. A defining characteristic of Jeffery's relationship with his family was his consistent and regular contact, so when days passed with no word, his absence became alarming.
His family officially reported him missing to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office on January 2, 2025, sparking an official investigation into his sudden and uncharacteristic disappearance.
Following the report, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office began an active search for the missing man. Authorities released a physical description of Jeffery to the public in the hopes that someone might recognize him. He was described as a white male, standing 5-feet, 7-inches tall, and weighing around 125 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. When he was last seen, he was reportedly wearing a graphic t-shirt, brown pants, and brown shoes. The circumstances of his last known communication, where he indicated he was feeling stressed, were a significant cause for concern for both his family and law enforcement as they worked to find him.
After a period of investigation and concern from his loved ones, the investigating agency reported that Jeffery Bernstein had been located and was alive. Official public records indicate that the case is no longer active. The specific details regarding the date, location, and circumstances of his discovery have not been publicly disclosed, leaving the end of his story a private matter. The overview of the case begins with a family's worry over a son who, after expressing feelings of distress and a desire to travel, broke his routine of regular communication. This led to a formal missing persons investigation by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, which has since been closed following official reports that he was found alive.Last Seen: Dec 30, 2024
