Prior to her disappearance, Paola had legal encounters.
In January 2022, she was charged in the Southern District of Florida under case number 1:22-cr-20001. She pleaded guilty to the charges and, in April 2022, was sentenced to 31 months of imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release. She was ordered to surrender to authorities by July 15, 2022.
Additionally, in March 2023, Paola was arrested in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Records indicate that she was 26 years old at the time, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall, and weighing 170 pounds, with blonde hair.
