In the summer of 2024, 40-year-old Paul Anthony Vasquez-Flores embarked on a journey from his home in Stockton, California, to visit family in Moses Lake, Washington. On July 21, 2024, while passing through the small community of Chemult, Oregon, his trip took an unforeseen turn. His vehicle, a 2007 silver Toyota Highlander, reportedly broke down, leaving him stranded.
