What was initially reported as a missing person case for Ryan Borgwardt, a 44-year-old from Wisconsin, began on August 12, 2024, when he was reported missing after failing to return from a kayaking trip on Green Lake the previous evening. The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office discovered his vehicle and trailer at a park, and deputies soon found a capsized kayak in the lake.
