Ruth Marlene Mello, aged 47, was last seen on July 4, 1989, in Marysville, California. She had reportedly been near the base of the 10th Street Bridge after having an argument with an acquaintance. After the disagreement, Mello vanished and has not been heard from since. She was wearing a red and black terrycloth shirt, yellow cotton stretch pants, and red Vans shoes at the time of her disappearance. Her case is considered suspicious, but very few details have emerged over the years to clarify what happened.
Mello may have also used the last names Moore or Tolk, and she was known to wear eyeglasses. Originally from the Sacramento area, she had traveled to Marysville to visit her daughter shortly before going missing.
