On May 31, 2024, Calvin Knotts, an 80-year-old man from Midland, North Carolina, was last seen walking away from his home on Graybark Road. Knotts, who lived with dementia, often took walks through the neighborhood and its wooded areas. When he did not return home, his family launched an extensive search, which included ground searches on foot, tracking K9 units, drones, helicopters, and land search teams equipped with specialty utility vehicles.
