Clara Marie Grunst, 21 years old at the time, went missing on October 9, 1984, from Joplin, Missouri. She was last believed to be hitchhiking from Joplin to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she had been living and seeking employment. Clara was seen getting into a truck driven by a man from Milwaukee near the intersection of Interstate 44 and Highway 43 in Joplin.
